Google Pixel 5 – What We Want To See

It is not wrong to say that last year was not successful for Google in terms of phone business they have a good reputation when it comes to the phone business. Last year they launched Google Pixel 4, 4 XL these two models are currently the latest model in Pixel series, but their selling numbers were lowest of all time. This is because they fell short in some areas, the camera was great as usual but the RAM management and other aspect were not properly calibrated.

Due to such types of issues raised by users and reviewer, the company is now taking its time and correcting all the issues that were faced by the users on the last model of Pixel. We all know that Pixel 4 & 4 XL had issues and we want those issues to be fixed in the next Pixel device.

Pixel 4 was Google’s most anticipated device but it doesn’t get that much-hyped as the Pixel 3 got. Despite the big notch that Pixel 3 had the users had loved it but the successor was not that thriving. Pixel 4 XL was loaded with tons of feature like Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 plus, 6 GB of RAM, 90Hz display, Adreno 640, etc. However, this is not a review for Pixel 4 but there were some elements that were missing, so let’s hope Google will address all these issues and shall launch an improved and new version of Pixel.

So here are the missing elements that you want to see in Pixel 5:

1. Increase The Battery Capacity

Unless and until Google increases the battery capacity for Pixel the phone will discharge soon because nowaday’s there is much application and the usage has increased drastically, so the company should increase the capacity of the battery. Till now the best battery Google implated is of 4,000mAh in the Pixel 4 XL and that too last for one day if someone is a casual user. If you are a sort of heavy user then the battery may not last. Whereas in older Pixel devices the battery was too low like 2,800mAh and the worst part is no support fast charging, so you can’t even use a third-party fast charger to charge your phone quickly.

Even this a big reason why Pixel is not loved in terms of battery performance. According to the company the phone runs stock Android and doesn’t have much bloatware, so the battery performance should increase but due to RAM management issue battery performance is not good. So this time if Google presents a bigger battery then it will be good for users.

2. Absence of Fingerprint Sensor

One of the coolest features that are missing in Pixel 4 devices is the fingerprint sensor, in a high-end phone, the fingerprint sensor is a must element. In this technology-based era where almost every phone is supplied with a decent fingerprint sensor, and Google is skipping it? What kind of strategy does Google’s marketing team follow! Nowadays smartphone that comes under a budget segment price bracket has the feature of biometric so tech-giant Google should also go for it.

Actually they relly on face unlock or facial recognition, their face unlock works fine in day but this feature gets in trouble when the phone is used in dark area or night. Their facial recognition is not 100% accurate, user complains that in a dark environment the phone struggles to unlock, in that case, they need to use their pin or pattern lock. In 2019-20 the pin or pattern lock is not acceptable even the company is not opting the option of in-display fingerprint sensor. Many premium smartphones are having in-display sensor which looks like an advance feature and the necessity of biometrics is also fulfilled. Let’s hope this time Google will implement the fingerprint sensor.

3. No MicroSD Slot

From there starting models Google is not including a micro SD slot to their phones. The reason for it is still unknown, according to the sources the motive to not include a card slot is to put everything on Cloud. Now Google is encouraging everyone to store all your data on cloud-like photos, videos, documents, etc. Maybe that’s the reason the company is providing unlimited storage in clouds for Google photos app. However, not everyone likes to upload their data on the cloud, many people still use SD card and there first preference is to store all the data on their card instead of the cloud.

Even the budget range smartphones are shipping the phone with a card slot, and even some premium phones are also including it. One of the biggest problems with cloud storage is that if you have a big file on the cloud and need to download it on your phone and simultaneously you are struggling with your network or signal strength then that will you do? For such scenario card slot is necessary, maybe this time the company may include it on Pixel 5.

4. Where Is An Ultra-Wide Lens

Finally, Google ditched a single camera setup and introduced a dual-camera setup in Pixel 4. There has been an ample amount of people who likes images clicked with Pixel devices and for sure the images are amazing but the company never introduce an Ultra-Wide sensor to their phones. People just love to take an ultra-wide photo or a wide selfie. Well, the telephoto lens on Pixel 4 performs exceptionally well users are loving it.

Whereas some handful of people are missing the ultra-wide lens, especially those who are into selfies or loves to click images in an ultra-wide mode. There are some rumours in the tech world that Google is planning to implement a new camera setup to there next Pixel model. So let’s hope these rumours are correct and the company implants the new sensor to the phone.

5. Change In New Design

From the last three years, Google is launching Pixel devices till now there are four devices launched. The first two devices have the same design which carries the aluminium unibody design on backside of the phone. Even there is a thin horizontal line beneath the camera setup that differentiate the two colour on the back panel. At first look, that design looked simple but later everyone accepted it however, the same design is carried forward in the next two devices.

But in the last year model, Google changed it and opted a new plain aluminium back coated with a matte finish that looks like a plastic material. This new avatar looks too simple, now pixel 4 users are suggesting that Google should switch to their old look.

6. Cost Cutting Should Be Done

Everybody knows that flagship smartphones are expensive but that much increase in price is not acceptable, where other brands like Realme, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc are presenting there flagship in the price bracket of $450 to $500. In the Indian market, it cost around ₹ 95,000 respectively. So why Google is charging around $800. If the company can cut its prices then it can seriously change the entire market. Who knows the entire premium market can shift towards Google, as we know that everyone needs a Pixel device as it holds Stock Android and supplies regular updates. That’s why Google needs to re-think on their pricing aspect.

Hence these were some missing elements that Google has missed to implement on Pixel 4 & 4 XL. So let’s hope that on Pixel 5 these elements shall be included and the company deliver a power-pack phone with all the necessary elements in decent pricing.
